What is an Innovation Project?

As a teacher, I am always looking for the next best thing to inspire my students to become more active participants in their learning. After researching Kevin Brookhouser's 20% project, I was inspired to recreate a version of this project for my own students. Thus, the Innovation Project was born.

Setting up your Google Site

Your Google Site for your "Innovation Project" is a direct reflection of not only you but the work you are completing this semester for your project.

You want to choose a theme that represents your chosen topic, and organize the layout of your website so it's user friendly and showcases all of your hard work this semester.

The requirements for your Google Site are as follows:

1.  An "About Me"- Your website should contain a short biographical section on the homepage that is about you. In your "About Me", you should discuss your personal interests, hobbies, goals, favorite movies, music, books, video games, classes ect.  You need to include a picture of yourself in your "About Me."

2. A "Why I Chose My Topic" page- Your website needs to include a page on why you chose your topic. In this section you need to discuss why this problem interests you, why you feel it is a problem, and what you hope to you do solve this problem through your research and implementation this semester.

3.  A page for your "Blog"- You need to create a separate page for your blog and embed your project blog onto that page with a short description of what your blog is.

4.  A page for your "Persuasive Essay"- on this page you will discuss what it was like to research and learn about your topic and then post examples of your Outline, Works Cited Page,  Rough Draft of your essay and then your Final Polished Draft.

5.  An "Implementation" Page- Here you will upload and discuss your final product and how you plan to implement your solution.

6.  A "Presentation" Page- Here you will discuss and upload your final presentation (ie- Keynote, Google Presentation, Movie, ext)
